Can "tree bark" Cure Cancer?

By Kelly Granite Enck
There is a man who lives in the small village of Narasipura, India who has been treating people with cancer using tree bark

His name is Vaidya Narayana Murthy and he was featured in a documentary on Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is the ancient medicine native to India, and the word comes from (Sanskritआयुर्वेदĀyurveda, "the knowledge for long life." The earliest  literature on Indian medical practice appeared during the Vedic period in India, in the mid-second millennium BCE. The Suśruta Saṃhitā and the Charaka Saṃhitā, encyclopedias of medicine compiled from various sources from the mid-first millennium BCE to about 500 CE."[4] Ayurveda
People come from all over the world to see Dr. Murthy, often after hearing "…there is nothing more medically to be done to cure you from cancer." The good news is Dr. Murthy's success rate is 90 percents and his drug is natural—wise old trees. I understand the importance of nutrients after becoming a Raw Foodist.  Even my thoughts have changed with an all live diet. What the cells in a sick body need is more nutrients to fight off cancer and these are found in abundance in layers and layers of hundred year old trees. The bark protects the tree, by acting like a shield to protect the vascular cambium, phloem, and xylem which are located just under the bark. Most bark is safe to eat, but conifers and other "pines" type trees are toxic to rabbits.

In the documentary on Ayurveda, real medical doctors testing the tree bark that Murthy used to treat patients with varieties forms of cancers. They found the tree bark— kills leukemia cells. Murthy is currently treating nearly 700 people a day, who line up in front of his small village home.

                                                                  Vaidya's Healing Hands

Murthy listens intently for a couple of minutes and looks at their medical lab slips before offering them the bark as medicine for 15 to 30 days, depending on their ailment. Some donate money into a small box, but his service is entirely free. The source of his medicine is primarily from different kinds of plants and herbs which he personally collects from a nearby forest.  (woody stems, roots and barks) Murthy gives instructions on how to ingest the bark. I believe one of the inner red barks he uses is from the Lapacho family of trees. I have added a YouTube below to share this incredible story. Click the photo a couple time to pop it up and play it.

Lapacho" is also a collective term for various species of  Tabebuia one of the barks used for treating cancer.

Lapacho tea
Lapacho or Taheebo is a herbal tea made from the inner bark of Pink IpêTabebuia impetiginosa. It is also sold under more ambiguous and possibly misleading names like "Ipes", "Ipê", "Pau d'arco", "Ipe Roxo", or "Trumpet Bush".
The following Scientific Information on Lapacho
is from Dr. Daniel B. Mowry, PhD—

"DESCRIPTION
Lapacho is an evergreen tree, with rosy colored flowers, belonging to the Bignonia family. Nearly 100 species of lapacho trees are known, but only a few of these yield high quality material, and it takes extremely skilled gatherers to tell the difference. (Half or more of the battle involved in bringing high quality lapacho to the marketplace is finding and retaining qualified gatherers.) The medicinal part of the tree is the bark, specifically the inner lining of the bark, called the phloem (pronounced floam). The use of whole bark, containing the dead wood, naturally dilutes the activity of the material. Lapacho is also known by the Portuguese name of Pau D'Arco, and by tribal names such as Taheebo and Ipe Roxo.

CONSTITUENTS
Once the therapeutic activity of those constituents has been thoroughly investigated, perhaps researchers will turn their attention to the phloem. Until then, it is probably safe to assume that the living bark contains a similar set of active constituents as the heartwood plus some others that make it more effective and would account for the living bark's greater popularity as a folk medicine. Traditionally, as anyone who chooses to examine the herbal literature of the world can verify, it is the living bark of a plant, especially a tree or shrub, that is used medicinally--not the heartwood. The reason is simple: the nutrients and representative families of chemical substances used to sustain the life of the tree are found in greatest concentration in the cambium layer and phloem of the living bark.

Pull the bark off a tree and you will notice moist, very thin layers of tissue that seem to shred when picked at with the hands. This is the cambium layer. Its purpose is to create new tree tissues, such as phloem, through cell division. The newest, youngest phloem cells are just outside the cambium. As new phloem is added, older cells are crushed and pressed into the bark. Younger, newer cells added to the inside of the cambium layer are called xylem. Newer xylem is called sapwood; older xylem is crushed and pressed into the heart of the tree. It is therfore known as heartwood. The actively conducting tissues of a tree are the thin layers of fresh xylem and phloem on each side of the cambium.

The following is a summary of some of the effects of lapacho and/or any of its constituents that have been validated by modern research:

1. Laxative effect.

2. Anti-cancer effect.
Leukemia has proven particularly susceptible to the application of lapacho and several of its constituents. Some researchers feel that lapachol is one of the most important anti-tumor agents in the entire world. Part of the effectiveness of lapacho may stem from its observed ability to stimulate the production of red blood cells in bone marrow. Increased red blood cell production would improve the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.

3. Anti-oxidant effect. In vitro trials show definite inhibition of free radicals and inflammatory leukotrienes by lapacho constituents. This property might underlie the effectiveness of lapacho against skin cancer, and definitely helps to explain observed anti-aging effects.

4. Analgesic effect.  Arthritic pain has also been relieved with lapacho ingestion.

5. Antimicrobial/anti-parisiticidal effects. includes inhibition and destruction of gram positive and acid-fast bacteria (B. subtilis, M. pyogenes aureus, etc.5-8), yeasts, fungi, viruses and several kinds of parasites. Two troublesome families of viruses inhibited by lapachol are noteworthy: Herpes viruses and HIV's. Together, these viruses account for much of the misery of mankind.

6. Anti-fungal effect.

7. Anti-inflammatory.

The FDA gave lapacho a clean bill of health in 1981."One should be careful, using the Lapacho internal. Don't overdose Lapacho tea and don't drink it longer than six weeks without break.

I am on the Raw Food Diet, which is a diet similar to the one used to fight cancer called the Gerson Therapy. I learned about eating all "live foods" while on my journey around the world to investigate the "unknown reality." My memoir is on Amazon and Kindle books.

Sneak-A-Peek Below!
My first stop was to The World Sound Healing Conference in San Francisco. I wanted to understand the science of frequencies, especially if everything in the universe was vibrating to their own unique song! I waited in the large conference room to hear Dr. Susan Yale's lecture on the Harmonic Oscillator. The room went dark and three pyramids projected on a large movie screen.

"You can hear the sound of "nature" between the Pyramids of Giza," Dr. Yale said, pausing, "it's a perfect F Sharp." No one moved. She spoke slowly, "If you knew there was a place in the world where you could hear God, would you go?" I always wanted to swim in the Nile! ~ from my Memoir, (click link—"From Hollywood to God"  Kelly Granite Enck on Amazon books and Kindle.

Grand Cafe de ROODEN HOED, Antwerp, Belgium!

By Kelly Granite Enck
Meet the Oracle of Belgium, Cas Goossens. He is handsome, successful, and owns the oldest restaurant in historic Antwerp. And he is only twenty-four. Rooden Hoed, means red roof and it has been in business for over 250 years in this Flemish city. Maybe it was protected by the grand Cathedral of Our Lady of Antwerp that stands proud as it's neighbor. My favorite moment was sitting in the tall red velvet chair, sipping a glass of wine and looking out the window at the Cathedral. It was adorned with statues of the Freemasons, who built it. Rarely is their a tribute to the workers of such great monuments.

Cas first heard of the Rooden Hoed as a young boy. His grandfather used to talk about dining there and bragged about the mussels cooked in wine. It must have been a grand story to entice Cas to beg for a job waiting on tables. He worked hard at the Rooden Hoed for 8 years and after graduating college, he took it over as the new owner! You might think he earned the right to stand around and greet the guests, but not Cas, he still waits tables. Every night he is pouring the wine and running around the restaurant in love.

Beneath his restaurant is a medieval wine cellar. He told me the story of taking his friend's grandmother down to see it. He calls her "Antwerp Minded," which means she is in love with the city. While down in the old wine cellar which was hand laid in brick, she cried, because she was so moved. He asked if I wanted to see it. "Of course!" I said. We walked down the narrow stairway into the red brick Medieval cellar. The walls had stories stuck on them, love, war, affairs, death, birth, it was all so overwhelming!

Rooden Hoed had romanced me from the beginning, not from the grander, history or the elegance, but rather from a small incident. On the first night in Antwerp while walking through the historic city, I caught my reflection in the window. I had an odd feeling of familiarity, not because I know my own reflection, but it was the surroundings within it. I cupped my hands around my eyes and peered through the window. Inside was three grand chandeliers hanging low, and white table clothes, that gave it great wealth. It looked too expensive to dine in, which initially intimidated me. So, I didn't think anymore about it, unit the next night, when David's boss Susan asked if we could dine there.

I was excited thinking the night was some sort of omen! We entered and Cas greeted us. We were given the best table in the house, one that over looked the Cathedral. The place was buzzing with locals sitting together at long tables, drinking the Belgium beer and eating an entire fish, which appeared to be grilled. I had risotto, wine and a dessert. That night I accidentally left my credit card after paying for dinner. Cas made several calls to hotels in Antwerp to find me and once he had, he left a letter under my hotel room door. It said, that my card was safe with him. When David and I arrived back to our hotel we saw the letter.

It was clear that he was my next Oracle; the one stranger I wanted to meet in each country to change my life. I met him for coffee to learn more about him. "Who was your inspiration in life?" I asked him. "My sister," he answered without pausing. "She is also somewhat of a celebrity on a local radio show." "What is she like?" I asked. "Always positive" he answered.

It was extraordinary that a twenty four year old would be thriving in a Pre 1500s Historic Antwerp, which had it's origins in a Gallo-Roman vicus civilization. We know it goes back this far from the Princeton 1952-1961 excavations in the oldest section near the Scheldt. Here they found pottery shards and fragments of glass from the mid-2nd to 3 century. By the 4th century Antwerp was named "anda" (at) "werpum" (wharf). At the end of the 10th century, the Scheldt became the boundary of the Holy Roman Empire. Soon the Merchants wealth was soaring and Antwerp experienced The Golden Age from the 15-16 century. This was the time of the great painters, who lived in the city, like Peter Paul Rubens. And where do think they all dined? :)
Today, Antwerp is a tourist gem. The locals ride their bikes through the city wearing colorful pants, and European scarves. But, when hungry they all stop for dinner at the Grand Cafe de  Rooden Hoed for a Flemish meal with Mussels and a Belgium beer. Cas has changed me, I am now "Antwerp Minded." And our next visit promises to reveal more…to see the mysterious underground cellar play my new Video!

List of 10 Superfoods!

What are Superfoods? They are foods rich in nutrients.   By Kelly Granite Enck
It's strange after going on a raw food diet I find myself less hungry and always satisfied. I believe this diet is the secret we have all been waiting for. It is the answer to maintaining a perfect weight, it's the fountain of youth, and the potion for great sex! But, what I love the most about it, is that it provides me with an extreme mental focus so I can write! Today's blog is about foods known to have Super Powers! The number one Superfood in ancient medicine is the Goji Berries
Goji Berry

1. Goji Berries:
Dried Goji Berries
Goji berries help to improve the immune system, 18 kinds of amino acids, including 8 essential amino acids, up to 21 trace minerals, high amounts of antioxidants, iron, vitamins B and E.
2.  Wheatgrass: I have replaced my morning coffee with Wheatgrass! :) Wheatgrass is juiced from the grass of young wheat plants. It is packed with highly concentrated vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll and enzymes. Nutritionally wheatgrass is a complete food that contains 98 of the 102 earth elements. One of the ingredients with major benefit in wheatgrass is chlorophyll, which has the ability to draw toxins from the body like a magnet. You can call all organic plants with chlorophyll, quantum super foods, because inside your body they become both wave and particle as they search for places in your body that needs to be restored! One Shot of Wheatgrass Juice contains 103 vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

3. Sea Vegetables, (Kelp, Dulse, Nori, Hijiki, Bladderwrack, Chlorella:
Kelp noodles and sea vegetables are high in minerals, fat free, gluten free, wheat free, low in carbohydrates and calories. They are a great natural source of iodine.
You can make a pasta sauce for your seaweed noodles out of pine or cashew nuts.
Or order a seaweed salad next time you are at a Sushi Restaurant.

4. Aronia Berry or Chokeberries: It is native to North America and contains one of the highest levels of antioxidants – anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins of any fruit.
Aronia Berry
5. Cacao: Raw Chocolate, buy cacao nibs or cacao powder and make dessert shakes with almond milk, dates and agave nectar!

6. Maca: Growing at 14,000 feet in Peru where nothing else grows, it evolved to be a very hearty plant to survive the harsh conditions, and is packed with vitamins and nutrients.
Maca
It helps with the symptoms of PMS and menopause issues for women, and enlarged prostate issues for men, bey merely correcting their chemical imbalances. Maca can also be purchased in powder form and added to blended drinks and green leaf smoothies.
VeGAN PROTEIN: If you are a vegan or vegetarian, eating a variety of incomplete plant proteins daily – hemp, along with nuts, beans and grains – helps you get all the amino acids you need. Hemp protein powder contains approximately 10 to 15 grams of protein per serving, depending on the brand you choose.
7. Honey Raw: organic honey is amazing for the skin, It contains nearly all B vitamins especially vitamin B-9 folate, all 21 essential amino acids and is a complete protein.

If your honey is local it will prevent allergies from affecting you.

8. AFA Blue Green Algae: Best Source: E3LIVE and it's not cheap. Personally-I like a fresh seaweed salad.

9. Camu Berry: And last, the highest vitamin C source on the planet, the Camu berry. It is one of the best anit-depressants, and known for nourishing the eyes.

10. Water, the magic mood lifter, drink a large glass when you wake up and before you go to sleep. Don't worry about waking up to pee, because you are supposed to remember your dreams. I promise you will go back to sleep! Water in it's natural environment is loaded with minerals. I love it!

I am proud of my new body! I feel like I have just started in life—in my 50's! To find out how to look and feel like I do read my book, click this link to my memoir "From Hollywood to God" .
