Detox Farting!

I woke up to an email from a friend trying the Raw Food Diet.

Newly Raw: GIRL!!! You never told me about the massive ass-blasters I'd be laying out!! That kale had me farting all NIGHT!!! oh, and...Good Morning, Sweetie!

Me: The farting comes from mixing Raw Food with Cooked Foods, even if the meals are apart- like cooked foods for breakfast and raw live foods for lunch. It also comes from detoxing-- which can be very hard on you. In other words you may feel flu like symptoms on an all-raw diet for the first few days, even break out in pimples. This is your body's way of getting rid of toxins. To make a life change, it takes discipline and courage. I guess I need a BIG DETOX blog. Raw is not an easy diet. It is the hardest and most challenging experience I have ever undertaken in mind control. The mind is the biggest battle, it tells you even when you are full-- that you should eat pizza or popcorn! It smells it and demands it. :)But, with the knowledge of knowing that you will get over old food imprints and feel better than you have in your entire life-- you can do it!! Hang in there- fart all the toxins out!! Keep farting; the smell of farts goes away when your body cleans out the toxins. And the farting goes away completely if you stay 100 percent raw. As you continued the diet your sweat will not smell, you will stop farting, and your poo will have no odor. :)

Newly Raw: YAY!! Ok, they're not even stinky, just hilariously LOUD! I can't wait for my husband to come home Saturday. He'll think it's hysterical!

Me: Did you see the documentary Crazy Sexy Cancer, by Kris Carr she was sick detoxing because cancer had reached stage four. The more out of shape you are the harder it is, but the more you need to go raw!

What I ate in a day on a Raw Food Diet!

    • Three Day Detox
      My current weight is 115, but my body feels stronger now and it has re-shaped itself based on the raw food diet's live nutrients. I am all muscle and no fat. But more importantly I have metal clarity and I feel sexy in my skin. Oh, and get this... I am never hungry.

      Unless you are fighting cancer or another diseases a simple three day detox on Green Smoothies is a perfect start to a raw food diet. Victoria made it very clear that it is easier to go 100 percent all raw-- then to mix up meals, some normal and some raw, not to mention the farting when you mix raw with cooked meals!

      To prepare your leaf drinks you will need either a blender or juicer. Juicing is too time consuming for me, so I blend.

      When you blend your pound of daily leaves with Organic OJ or Apple Juice --everything that goes into the blender goes into your glass. Green Smoothies take about 3 minutes to make after you have cleaned your leaves. Green Smoothies retain all the fiber of the raw foods you blend, giving your body both the soluble fiber needed to flush the toxins out of the cells, and the insoluble fiber required for deeply cleaning through out the intestines.

      Three Tips to Stay on the Green Smoothie Detox:

      1. Make sure you always have your smoothie with you. Make more than you can drink. This is to avoid a hunger panic when your food imprints tell you that you need a pizza. :)

      2. As a Raw Foodist, I have learned to over estimate the amount of smoothie, I would rather throw some out at the end of the day, or drink it the following day, than run out. If your smoothie did not get too much sun during the day-- it should be good for the next day.

      3. Think ahead one day. I buy what I need for a smoothie fresh for the following day. I love going to the organic market. It is like going to Starbucks in the morning for a cup of coffee in my old life. Now, I look forward to Native Sun, it has become part of my social life. It's fun to run into those like me, living on live foods! They are different, happier, more alive, they have mental clarity and Joy that is unmeasurable in a blog.  Crazy as it sounds it's the most beautiful part of my day shopping for live, organic, fresh fruits and leaves.

4. You need to drink a pound of leaves a day to get the right about of protein and nutrients to kick this diet into FULL GEAR!

Recipe for Green Smoothie
Weight your pound of leaves each day, until you get an idea of how much this is. I add Organic OJ and ginger in my Vita Mix Blender. This is simple and fast for me. Choose a grocery-bunch of any the following greens: Collard greens, dandelion greens, beet greens, kale, Swiss chard, spinach, watercress, mustard greens, escarole, carrot tops, beat tops, and green leaf that wraps around your finger, the dark the leaf the more powerful! Victoria teaches to vary the green leaves daily as they have a tiny toxin in them, which is good for detoxing the body but, not good for you to drink the same leaf daily. This explains why animals graze. Even Wheatgrass is in this category, of not "every day." . 

I find Dandelions to be very bitter: but I still and a some of these from time to time to my pound of leaves. They are high in calcium, rich in iron, and loaded with Antioxidants.

You will need a good blender. The Vitamix is the best blender, but it’s expensive. The VitaMix makes smoothies out of any fruit or leaves instantly, because of it's massive horse powerful. 
a. Wash your leaves and fruit in a white cap full of hydrogen peroxide and Apple Cinder Vinegar  Let them soak in the bowl for a few minutes. Then re-wash the leaves in fresh water. Removing tough stems and chopping roughly. 
b. Strain leaves from water and then blend with organic OJ or Apple juice. This takes only 50 seconds or less. Squeeze lemon on top for extra taste! :)
c. Make sure you keep the mixture DARK GREEN –don’t add too much juice. 40/60 mix is a good start, 40 percent leaves, 60 percent juice or fresh fruit.
d. Pour into a clean glass jar and store in the fridge. Make enough for two days. It will keep in the fridge for 3 days before it starts to separate.  
What Kind of Nutrition Do You Get From a Green Smoothie?

Raw Green Smoothies are a complete protein. Protein triggers our gut to release more of the hormone PYY3-36 that reduces appetite and 24-hour food intake. You feel fuller earlier and for longer. Their fibre helps fruit sugars absorb more slowly –really good for diabetics and hypoglycemic individuals. Because they are blended, the greens are easily digestible, by-passing digestive problems in the stomach and intestine, making the nutrients bio-available even for people with colitis.
When blended well, most of the cells in the greens and fruits are ruptured, making the valuable nutrients easy for the body to assimilate. Green smoothies literally start to get absorbed in your mouth.
A molecule of chlorophyll closely resembles a molecule of human blood. According to the teachings of Dr. Ann Wigmore, "consuming chlorophyll is like receiving a healthy blood transfusion". The late Dr Jensen stated in The Healing Power of Chlorophyll that if you're anemic or tired, Green Smoothies will quickly raise your red blood cell count.
Green Smoothies are rich in alkaline minerals like calcium. The high-calcium greens are the fibrous ones such as dandelion, kale and collard.
Green Smoothies contain all essential amino acids. It can be the cornerstone of a heart-friendly, earth-friendly vegan diet (vegetarian with no dairy).
Green Smoothies are a good source of Omega-3 unsaturated fat.
Kale has more calcium than dairy.

Side Effects -When You Begin a Green Smoothies Detox
Your bowel movements will turn green (er) than before, lighter and smell less toxic as you continue drinking Green Leaf Smoothies.
You may use the washroom more frequently at first, as your intestines clean out.
Some bowel movements may occasionally be runny until your raw diet becomes consistent.
Your craving for high calorie/high fat foods will decrease over time. Remember to reward yourself each day this creates a new nuro-pathway for a healthy habit.
Some people experience flu-like symptoms after cleansing on the Greens for three days or more. The symptoms will be mild and short-lived.
